Tongva Twilight: Sounds & Cinema
A free six-week Saturday series on the lawn at Tongva Park in Santa Monica, alternating live bands and open-air films a block from the ocean.

GOOD TO KNOW New in 2026 and free, produced with Santa Monica concert producer Rum & Humble. Confirmed music nights: Western Standard Time (ska big band) on August 8, The Rumble (New Orleans funk) on August 15, Son Mayor (salsa, with a lesson) on August 22 and The Windbreakers (yacht rock) on September 5. The city has said additional performances and film screenings fill out the remaining Saturdays but had not posted those titles when we checked — confirm the night you want on santamonica.gov. Complimentary popcorn on movie nights while supplies last. The park is at 1615 Ocean Ave, open until 11 PM.
Why it's worth your time
It is the only free series on this list that puts a band and a movie on the same lawn, and it runs a week past Labor Day, when most of LA's outdoor programming has already closed. Being across from the pier means you can make an evening of it without paying for anything but parking.
