Why it's worth your time
Ethio Cali, led by trumpeter Todd Simon, works the 1960s and 70s Ethiopian songbook through jazz and funk and pulls in rhythms from across Africa, Indonesia, the Caribbean and Latin America. Four acts across four hours, no ticket price, and a horn section that reads better outdoors than in a club.
